Our special Hudson Farmers Market held on October 29 to mark the beginning of a farm-to-school initiative between the Market and the Hudson City Schools was a great success. The HHS Commons is an ideal venue for an indoor market. The market had most of the regular Hudson Farmers Market vendors selling their goods and services. Additionally, there was a cooking demonstration showing how the Hudson Schools are using farm-fresh, local produce to feed students. There was plenty of fresh vegetable available from our farmers with hothouses and greenhouse. Keep a look out in the Hudson Hub and on this website and the Hudson Farmers Market Facebook and Twitter sites for information on other indoor markets that might occur over the winter.
Saturday October 1, 2011 marked the last regular market day of the season. We had a great year and I would personally like to thank all our customers, vendors, neighbors and board members that worked to make the season a success. We added a number of new vendors this year and adjusted the market lay out to help the flow of foot traffic on the Green. We also developed a new relationship with the Hudson City Schools farm-to-school program. Some of our vendors are selling their produce directly to the city schools for salad bars, soups and roasted vegetable pizza. We want to improve the market each year and are looking for ways to do that. If you have any ideas about how to improve the market, please feel free to e-mail me at jhudson@hudsonfarmersmarket.org Thanks! See you next year! J Hudson Market Manager

Both organizations, projects of the Rotary Club of Hudson Clocktower and its Leadership Hudson curriculum, are very proud to announce this unique arrangement.
